The Met Office issued a number of Yellow weather warnings this week for ice and fog as Co. Fermanagh experienced a cold snap which saw temperatures drop to lows of -7C.
Starting at 3pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, December 14), a Yellow weather warning for ice is still in place this morning with the Met Office warning that wintry showers will lead to ice and slippery services.
Residents are to expect some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and there will probably be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The chilly temperatures are set to continue over the next couple of days but are expected to improve over the weekend with the Met Office predicting highs of 9C this Sunday, with rain forecast for Fermanagh.
A number of dedicated ‘Warm Spaces’ have been designated in the Fermanagh area to support residents dealing with the low temperatures during the cost-of-living crisis.
