A tree planting as part of The Queen's Green Canopy project took place recently in County Fermanagh.
On Wednesday, January, 25, at Crom Estate, the National Trust was delighted to receive a large-leafed lime 'Tilia platyphyllos', from one of the 'Tree of Trees' from the Queen’s Jubilee Sculpture, that was on display in front of Buckingham Palace.
Lord and Lady Erne planted the tree with representatives from the National Trust, including Director for Northern Ireland, Heather McLachlan; Assistant Director, Jonny Clarke; and General Manager for Fermanagh, Gemma Carson.
This tree is one of 40 planted as part of this celebration in National Trust Fermanagh properties.
Speaking following the planting of the tree, Lord Erne, Chairman of the Fermanagh Queen’s Green Canopy project, said: "I am delighted that the Crom Estate has been chosen by the National Trust to plant the Tree of Trees for her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Green Canopy [project].
"It will also be a wonderful reminder of her long and successful reign."
