Just last year, Fivemiletown man James Henry Harpur donated £2,270 to the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen – the proceeds of the sale of a book of poems he had written.
James has now produced a second book to include a tribute to his late dear wife, Dorothy, to mark the first anniversary of her passing.
He has also included poems penned some years ago, and reflections of subjects such as the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and the war in Ukraine.
Speaking about his new book, James said: “After the success of the last book, I wanted to raise money for another worthy cause. This edition has been enhanced with photographs taken by local talent, Alan Malone.
“I received so many lovely comments about the last book, and ultimately took great pride in being able to support the SWAH.”
Copies of ‘Poems Old And New’ are available in various Fivemiletown outlets, MAPS in Omagh, and directly from James himself.
