‘The Thing Itself’ – a night dedicated to showcasing poetry, spoken word and song – will return on Friday, March 10 with ‘The Spring Thing’ featuring headline performances from two talented local acts.
Hosted at Mulhern’s Cellar Bar, Enniskillen, doors will open at 7.30pm, with the night kicking off at 8pm with an open mic where those in attendance are welcome to perform their own originals works, whether poetry or song.
This will be followed by headliners, poet Robert Elliott, and singer-songwriter Conor Phillips.
Having written and performed his first poem at The Thing Itself in 2017, Robert has since been performing his works at various events including the Ulster Poetry Slam Final and local open mic nights.
In 2022, the Maguiresbridge poet released his debut book, ‘The Colebrooke Collection’, featuring 68 original poems. On the night, Robert will perform a range of poems from his extensive collection.
Conor is a well-known face on the local gig scene, performing across Fermanagh and beyond. Every Tuesday, the Enniskillen musician can be found hosting a popular open mic Live Lounge at Magee’s Spirit Store, where he kicks the night off with a set of tunes.
A talented singer-songwriter, Conor will entertain at The Thing Itself with a selection of his original songs.
All are welcome to attend and admission can be paid at the door on the night. It promises to be an entertaining night celebrating local creativity and talent.
