A ‘soup-er’ time was had by all who attended a fundraising lunch event hosted by the South West College (SWC) Level 3 Event Management students at the Erne Campus, Enniskillen, which raised more than £250 for an important cause.
The ‘Soup-er Cause at SWC’ fundraiser – that took place on Friday, March 3, and featured a feast of homemade soups, rolls and traybakes – was organised to raise money for, and awareness of, the SWC Student Foodbank, a service that is available to all students.
This initiative has been live since September, 2022, with the aim of assisting students in the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
A raffle, with prizes sponsored by local businesses, also helped raise money on the day.
A spokesperson for the SWC Level 3 Event Management class said: “We had a very successful event last Friday.
“We are delighted to say that we raised a grand total of £288.11 towards the SWC Student Foodbank.
“We were overwhelmed by the support of raffle prizes sponsored by local businesses. The prizes on the day were amazing.
“We would also like to kindly thank all of the guests that attended on the day. They were all very complimentary of the food and service.
“Our event has also helped to raise awareness of our foodbank here at SWC, and the funds raised will go a long way in supporting our students.”
