Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary are urgently appealing to anyone who would be able to rehome Sid – a Saluki cross with separation anxiety, that desperately needs a loving 'forever home'.
Speaking to The Impartial Reporter, Diane Boyle, a trustee of the Fermanagh-based animal sanctuary, described Sid as "a gorgeous boy".
"We desperately need someone to give Sid a chance," she said, explaining that Sid suffers from very bad separation anxiety.
"He will need someone at home with him a lot of the time, and just someone who will make him feel that the world is not a bad place.
"He is never more content than when he is lying on the sofa," she added.
Diane noted that Sid could potentially be rehomed with a large breed dog. "Small dogs or cats are definitely not an option," she added.
"Please, please, if you can offer this gorgeous boy a home, send us a message today. It is just so heartbreaking to see him like this – all he needs is love," Diane appealed.
The appeal has been shared multiple times on social media with local actor Ciarán McMenamin also posting a video in a bid to help find Sid a new home.
If you are able to give Sid a loving home, please contact Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary at 028 6638 8885, email brighteyes.sanctuary@btinternet.com, or make contact via the animal sanctuary's Facebook page.
