Officers from An Garda Síochána and the PSNI are currently conducting a joint operation search in relation to the 1972 Belturbet bombing.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed the search, saying: "Officers from the PSNI are conducting a search of the Woodford River at the Old Aghalane Bridge on the Border between Co. Fermanagh and Co. Cavan as part of an ongoing An Garda Síochána investigation into the Belturbet bombing on December 28, 1972."
Also confirming the search, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Searches are being carried out by the Garda Water Unit and PSNI divers as part of the investigation into the Belturbet bombing.
"The Woodford River in the vicinity of the old Aghalane Bridge between Cavan and Fermanagh is being searched."
