The Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen has announced a major £4 million expansion to its leisure and accommodation facilities expected to bring over 30 new full- and part-time jobs to the business.
The expansion, which was backed by Invest Northern Ireland, to the tune of £795,000, was announced by Invest N I Chief Executive, Mr. Leslie Morrison, who said: “This ambitious project will enhance the hotel’s competitiveness in the market place, create job opportunities and contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Fermanagh.”
The extension will create an additional 27 bedrooms to the existing premises and include a high-quality leisure centre, offering full fitness and spa facilities to residents and the local community on a membership basis.
The hotel’s Managing Director, Mr. Rodney Watson, said he is confident he will see an increase in turnover as a result of the investment: “Fermanagh is an area of outstanding natural beauty and this expansion will mean the area will become accessible to coach and tour operators who require hotels with more than 60 rooms, as well as corporate booking agencies who require leisure facilities as an important part of the package on offer.”
Mr. Morrison also commented: “The Killyhevlin Hotel has a strong track record, an experienced management team, a good relationship with its regular customers, and a reputation for high-quality service.
“In line with Invest NI’s principles for business support, we have offered the hotel a tailored package of assistance. The new facilities will enable the hotel to target specific markets including the family-oriented short stay market, larger corporate clients and coach tour operators “
Work on the expansion is hoped to commence in late August and is scheduled to be completed by Easter 2005.
