Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary are hosting a 'Collie Appreciation Day' on Sunday, May 21, to give members of the public the opportunity to meet rescue Collies who are up for adoption.
"There are so many Collies in rescue up and down the country and we at Bright Eyes have so many ourselves who desperately need homes," said Diane Boyle, a trustee of Bright Eyes.
She continued: "These beautiful dogs are totally misunderstood as not being amazing pets, which couldn’t be further from the truth, so please consider adopting a Collie and don’t just write them off, you really could make a difference."
The event will take place from 12noon to 3pm at the sanctuary which is based on the Killymittan Road, Ballinamallard. All are welcome.
In the lead up to 'Collie Appreciation Day', on their social media page, Bright Eyes are featuring a different rehoming story of one of their Collies, along with an appeal for a Collie at the sanctuary that is desperately waiting for a loving 'forever home'.
"Let’s make a difference guys and change peoples perception of this beautiful breed and make some happy ever after stories please," said Diane.
