A Fermanagh man who was taken ill while in the United States has thanked the Fermanagh community for its support during his illness.
Pauric Kettyles (24), from Enniskillen, fell ill in April while on a trip of a lifetime with his partner and his friends.
More than £60,000 was raised for Pauric, his medical expenses, and expenses for his partner and family to remain by his side in America while he received treatment in Los Angeles – the fundraising account via GoFundMe has now been closed.
In a social media post, Pauric thanked all those who had supported him and his family during his period of ill health.
He said: "I would like to thank everyone who supported me while me and my family were in LA as well as all of the support through the GoFundMe [account].
"Without your support, they wouldn’t have been able to come and the outcome could have been worse.
"My family in America and Ireland during this traumatic experience have been amazing, sorting everything out for me, so I can’t thank them enough."
Concluding, Pauric said: "Now that I am home, I still have a long journey of recovery ahead of me, but hopefully you will all see me running about again in no time."
