A great night was had by all who attended a recent fashion show hosted by Fivemiletown College in aid of school funds and the charity, NI Chest, Heart and Stroke.

Taking place on Thursday, April 27, around 30 amateur models including members of school staff, parents and students took to the catwalk in the latest styles from a range of local shops.

Organised as a fundraiser for the school, it was decided that a portion of the proceeds would be donated to NI Chest, Heart and Stroke in honour of former Fivemiletown College student Jamie Houston, who received support from the charity after experiencing a stroke at the age of 30 in July, 2022.

Thankfully, Jamie has since fully recovered.

Speaking about the success of the fashion show, which raised in the region of £3,000, organiser Mary Daly, Careers teacher at the school, said: “It was a fantastic night and there were no professional models – they were members of staff, parents and students.”

Grateful to the local businesses that supported the fashion show, Mary explained that the models wore garments from RoaleX Equestrian and Country Wear, Beyoutiful Dress Hire, SD Kells Menswear Enniskillen, Queen Bee, Simply Chic and Daisy Lane.

“The hall was very tastefully decorated by Winterberry Weddings in Augher,” she added.

A previous fashion show took place at The Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown earlier this year, which was organised by Jamie herself and compered by Mary, in aid of NI Chest, Heart and Stroke and Marie Curie.
