A woman who was stopped by police while driving her partner’s car was not insured to do so and did not hold a full driving licence.
At around 10.25pm on March 26, 2023, police stopped a Volkswagen vehicle on Belfast Road, Maguiresbridge.
Officers spoke to the female driver, Leila King (26), of Tattinderry Heights, Maguiresbridge and checks showed she had no insurance in place.
King was also a provisional driving licence holder and there were no L plates displayed while she was not accompanied by a qualified driver.
Jane McDermott, a solicitor for King, told the court her client accepted it was “totally irresponsible” to be driving and she had held her hand up.
King was convicted of having no insurance, no L plates displayed and being an unaccompanied L driver receiving a three-month driving disqualification and a total of £300 in fines.
