There was a tremendous display of modern and vintage tractors at Queen Elizabeth II PS, Kilskeery tractor run which was held recently.
The fundraising event was in aid of school funds and the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland charity.
This was the first time that the school had organised an event like this, and it was a wonderful success.
The grey clouds and showers earlier in the morning didn’t deter tractor enthusiasts from turning up in a wide variety of tractors which ranged from vintage Deter and Grey Fergusons to modern high-tech, fourwheel drive New Hollands, Massey Fergusons and John Deeres.
As the skies cleared and the sunshine appeared, participants and spectators all enjoyed delicious breakfast baps, teas, coffees and tray bakes before the tractor run began.
The hot food and baps were kindly donated by local shops in Trillick.
Special thanks were extended to Sproule’s VIVO, McCarney’s NISA and Goodwin Meats, along with thanks also to Raymond and Adele Murphy for providing the tea, coffee, milk, juice and crisps.
Before participants set off on their tractors, a raffle draw was held for a fantastic list of prizes donated by local businesses, with thanks extended to Gillian Ellison for her efforts in making this raffle such a success.
The tractors then set off for an enjoyable 10-mile run through Trillick, then moved along rural roads and returned back to Kilskeery.
The display and run were captured by drone video from DT Agri and Aerial Photography.
It was an excellent community event with a great turnout of tractors and a large crowd of spectators, all providing a great opportunity for people of all ages to get together and have a catch up.
The school would like to thank all of the volunteers, marshals, caterers and staff for all their help, the businesses who donated so generously, and to all who attended, who altogether made the great day a very memorable event for the Kilskeery community.
