Residents, staff and loved ones were invited to enjoy an afternoon of food and entertainment at a summer fete held at the County Care Home in Enniskillen at the weekend.
The event last Saturday afternoon, that ran from 2-4pm, was hailed as a real team effort with most of the entertainment being delivered by the home’s talented staff.
Deputy Manager Sharon Leonard entertained guests with her music act, ‘Adam’s Rib’, and a spectacular Bollywood dance was performed by some of the care staff.
Chef Dennis Jannesson and his team cooked up some delicious burgers, hot dogs, exquisite salads and a variety of desserts.
There was a Bargain Boutique, a cake sale and children’s entertainment included face painting and balloon modelling.
A few lucky winners also went home with raffle prizes which had been kindly donated by local businesses and individuals.
Karen Healey, the Leisure and Well-being Co-ordinator at The County Care Home, who organised the event with support from the team, said: “We wanted to host an occasion so that our residents, staff and loved ones could have some fun together, and we couldn’t have been happier with how it went.
“The weather may not have been on our side, but we didn’t let that stop us from having a good time, and it was great to see the residents and staff dancing and singing away with their loved ones.
“We were delighted with the turnout and the feedback has been nothing but positive, so we’ve agreed The County Summer Fete will be an annual event,” she added.
One attendee said: “Well done, everyone! It was so well organised, and we had a great wee afternoon. Thank you.”
The County Care Home, which is part of Sanville Group of Care Homes, is a purpose-built care home located just off Tempo Road in Enniskillen.
It provides nursing and specialist dementia care to more than 50 residents and recently underwent a substantial refurbishment to modernise and improve the facilities.
