The schools’ section of the show always yields a large entry from schools right across Fermanagh as the young people put their efforts into their needlework and craftwork.
There was a great appreciation for arts and crafts at the show with the introduction of the Craft Barn at the Show. The barn was filled with local vendors and showcased many different skills and businesses.
Many passersby were impressed by the work of Tommy O’Brien of Willowcraft as he carefully weaved willow baskets while local artist Caroline Dilworth received some attention as she showcased her business, Les Papillons.
The decision to have all of the craft and similar vendors under one roof was praised by those inside the Craft Barn with Leah Robinson of Riversdale Essence stating: “It’s a great venue and I think it will grow year-on-year. It is great to have a connection in here with other traders.”
Leah founded her business in 2020 after three years of product testing and reported a healthy interest in her offering during the show.
“As lot of people I know, my business is inspired by a little forest called Riversdale which is local to me and people have been chatting about that connection.”
