The days of parking in Enniskillen town centre for hours on end without fear of getting a ticket may soon be over. The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has written to those who may be affected by the changes.
A Notice of Intention for The Parking Places, Loading Bays, Waiting Restriction and Urban Clearways (Enniskillen) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023 regulations was sent out this week to give people the opportunity to object or make other representations in the coming weeks.
The order will also revoke and re-enact certain other parking places, loading bays and waiting restrictions in Enniskillen. Vehicles are excepted from the conditions in certain circumstances.
A DfI spokesperson said a date for the introductions of the new restrictions can only be confirmed when a final decision has been taken and the legislative process has been completed.
Full details are contained in the draft Order which together with maps showing the roads involved may be inspected free of charge during standard office hours at Dfl Roads Western Division, Enniskillen Section Office, Castle Barracks, Enniskillen.
Inspection of the draft Order and maps is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using TrafficWester@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone during office hours on 028 8225 4085;. Details can also be viewed at www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/consultations.
