A man in his sixties has appeared in court in County Monaghan, facing charges of dangerous driving that resulted in the tragic deaths of teenagers Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohammed.
Anthony McGinn, residing in Drumloo, Newbliss, is also accused of dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to another individual.
The fatal incident took place on July 31, 2023, as the best friends, 17-year-old Kiea and 16-year-old Dlava, were en route to a debs ball in Monaghan town. The collision occurred when the vehicle they were in collided with a tree on a section of the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones.
Mr. McGinn has been granted bail and is scheduled to return to court on April 22.
The court proceedings revolve around the unfortunate circumstances that led to the loss of lives and serious injuries on that fateful day.
