THE case of a Brookeborough man accused of causing injury to a male after crashing into an Enniskillen shop has been adjourned until April.
Gerald Francis Green (52) of Brooke Drive, Brookeborough, is facing a single charge of causing grievous bodily harm to a male by driving without due care and attention on June 16 of last year.
The charge relates to an incident that saw a taxi crash through the forecourt of the Lakeside Service Station at Queen Street, Enniskillen, on June 16, 2023.
During the incident, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service despatched two ambulances, a paramedic and the HEMS Charity Air Ambulance to the incident. One patient was taken to South West Acute Hospital by Ambulance.
According to the NI Courts and Tribunals Service, Green has entered a 'not guilty' plea to the charge. He did not appear for the hearing at Enniskillen Magistrate's Court this morning (Monday).
Defence Barrister, Stefan Rafferty, said that while information had been provided to the directing officer in the case, limited progress had been made in the case to date.
Mr Rafferty added that GP notes in respect of Green had been obtained, but attendance notes from South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) were still outstanding.
Mr Rafferty requested that the case be adjourned until this material could be obtained.
District Judge Alana McSorley ordered that the case be returned to on April 3.
