I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket – thankfully, there’s no shortage of talented young musicians all across the area, able to strike up a tune for all kinds of events.
That was certainly the case with these pupils from Bunscoil an Traonaigh, who put their Traditional Irish music skills to good use during the recent Seachtain na Gaeilge period, which ran across the first half of March, under the guideance of their teacher, Sinead.
With the Bunscoil offering its thanks to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council for sponsoring the event, it seems the young players sang songs and played Traditional Irish music at Barnlee and Gortachurn care homes in Lisnaskea, bringing some musical cheer to residents, many of whom were happy to sing along.
It’s great to see youngsters getting to grips with music, and then using their skills to help entertain others. So, well done, all at Bunscoil an Traonaigh!
