This is the crater-sized pothole that left one Fermanagh family “shaking” after they hit it earlier today (Saturday).
The pothole situated near the site of the former Carrybridge Hotel outside Lisbellaw is wide and almost razor-sharp.
Several motorists have reported damaging their vehicles in the hole.
One family who was caught up in it this afternoon — destroying a spring in their car as well as the tyre — described it as “unavoidable and dangerous”.
“We were driving down the road when suddenly we hit it as did the car in front. It was covered in water after the heavy rain and almost impossible to see.
“We were left shaking after hitting it. It has made us worried about other motorists — especially at night. We hope it gets fixed soon.”
Speaking to impartialreporter.com, one mechanic said: “Due to the state of Fermanagh’s roads, we are replacing springs in at least two pot-hole damaged cars a week.”
