A Fermanagh man has been jailed for two and a half years after being found guilty of two counts of fraud in a Dublin court.
Charles Mavitty (66), of Rosscarn, Enniskillen, was sentenced on March 21 to two counts of making a gain by deception before Judge Martin Nolan in Dublin’s Criminal Courts of Justice.
Mavitty pleaded guilty to the offences.
The offences occurred in April, 2017, and are in relation to the lease of heavy machinery.
Mavitty pleaded guilty to a charge relating to April 3, 2017, where he dishonestly by deception induced an individual to do an act to wit enter into a lease for a Hitachi Excavator making gain for yourself with the intention of making gain for yourself or another and causing loss to another.
He also pleaded guilty to a second offence which occurred on April 5, 2017, where he did dishonestly by deception induce a second individual to do an act to wit enter into a lease for a Hitachi Excavator with the intention of making gain for yourself or another and causing loss to another.
