THE Omagh Bombing Inquiry is to hold the first preliminary hearing in July 2024.
The independent statutory public inquiry into the Omagh Bombing has today (Tuesday) confirmed that it will hold a preliminary hearing in the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh on Tuesday, July 30.
This is the first hearing to be held by the Inquiry.
A preliminary hearing is one of the first steps in a public inquiry.
It is a legal hearing to consider procedural issues relating to the conduct of the Inquiry’s investigation and hearings.
The hearing will be live-streamed for those who wish to watch the proceedings online.
The preliminary hearing will be chaired by the Omagh Bombing Inquiry’s Chairman, Lord Alan Turnbull.
Counsel to the Inquiry is Paul Greaney KC.
