It was a close shave on Monday for a man who admitted stealing more than £600 worth of Gillette razor blades from ASDA in Enniskillen.
Thomas Ward (21), of Churchlands, Donegal, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 29.
A prosecutor told the court that Ward was pleading guilty to a single charge of theft, and added that he had “no previous record”.
Tthe prosecutor outlined that on March 25, last year, police were tasked to report to a theft at ASDA, Enniskillen.
Security staff said that two males, one of them Ward, stole Gillette razor blades to the value of £617.50. The store manager followed the males to the car park and witnessed them driving off in a Volkswagen Passat.
Police viewed CCTV from the store, and later located and arrested Ward for the offence. He made admissions to the theft but said that he did not know the value of the goods stolen.
District Judge, Alana McSorley, said that before sentencing Ward, she wished to see a pre-sentence report.
She ordered that the report be prepared for a hearing on May 13.
