A NEW project for Carrowshee Park/Sylvan Hill Community Association has been halted, Education Minister Paul Givan has confirmed.
Áine Murphy, representing Sinn Féin, expressed her concern over the delay in the project that will see the delivery of a new modular building for the association, to replace the current mobile unit.
According to Ms. Murphy, to date a business case for the project is nearing completion.
Responding to concerns raised by Ms. Murphy, Minister Paul Givan said the Department is still in the process of completing the legal due diligence process for Carrowshee Park/Sylvan Hill "which is required to enable the scheme to progress subject to funding being available".
He further detailed the steps being taken to advance the project, indicating the procedural hurdles that remain.
"The Departmental Solicitor’s Office (DSO) have provided the youth group with itemised lists of the outstanding information and documentation required to complete this process on a number of occasions. Until all the requested information has been received, and the legal due diligence process completed, the scheme is not able to progress any further," he added.
