Enniskillen Councillor Eddie Roofe is to contest the upcoming general election.
Councillor Roofe made election history in last year's Council elections when he was the first Alliance Party Councillor elected to Fermanagh.
Mr. Roofe said he is looking forward to "challenging the status quo" in Fermanagh and South Tyrone.
He said: "As a Border constituency that voted heavily in favour of remain, the ongoing impact of Brexit is still hitting hard, and is an important, unavoidable factor in many people's lives.
"Fermanagh and South Tyrone deserve to be represented by someone who can go to London and effectively communicate the challenges we experience.
"I look forward to the opportunity of becoming that voice for people here, to putting a positive, progressive, and inclusive message across throughout this campaign, and to delivering Alliance its best ever result in Fermanagh and South Tyrone."
