The typical art gallery is often thought of as being indoors but instead the pupils of Jones Memorial Primary School, Enniskillen took the gallery outdoors as part of a special art trail on Friday, May 17.

Pupils throughout the school created sculptures that reflected the topic work in class.

Reception and Primary One pulled out all the stops to be busy by creating bees from stones that they found on the beach.

Years Two and Three reflected their learning in the creation of a huge butterfly with recycled milk bottle tops.

Year Four lifted off into outer space to enjoy the planets in an outdoor gazebo in the woodland, complete with lights as stars.

Year Five was instrumental in creating Charlotte's Web - an outdoor spider display complete with a tyre pig to enthral all.

Year Six took inspiration from their study of rainforests when they compiled a lovely installation of the layers of the forest in the School Forest.

The Autism Specific Class created a farmer and used their own names to call him MALCOLM, a direct response to the topic, 'Field to Fork'.

The Learning Support Class was very busy with their efforts. They recreated Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men with a focus on the One Hundred Acre Wood, strategically placed in the school’s woodland.

Year Seven created a spectacular display of HMS Titanic from an old sailing boat that was kindly loaned from Carrickcraft.

There was a steady flow of visitors to the art trail on the day who were delighted to see the pupils' artwork.

Principal Sandra Isherwood said: "The pupils surpassed themselves with their creations.

"We look forward to this Art Trail again next year - everyone will be welcome, and we encourage as many as can to prioritise this lovely colourful walk around the grounds."
