A project to open up 10.5km of paths around Crom Estate has been completed.
The National Trust Fermanagh, in collaboration with Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (LELP), will unveil new trails at Crom with a weekend of celebrations on June 22 and 23.
The development not only allows greater accessibility but also features an upgraded playground and improved signage around the grounds.
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) through the Environment Fund, the project has unveiled previously inaccessible routes.
This initiative allows for increased connections with land and nature, shaping Crom Estate as an idyllic space for visitors.
Various arts, culture, nature, and heritage events are planned over the celebratory weekend.
The upgrades are likely to appeal to a vast range of visitors, including nature enthusiasts, families, and cultural heritage explorers.
Gemma Carson, general manager of National Trust Fermanagh, expressed her joy upon the project's completion: "We're thrilled to see the completion of this much-anticipated project at Crom.
"It has been a team effort, and we are very grateful to LELP, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and DAERA for their support.
"Making Crom more accessible is a fantastic achievement for the National Trust and in keeping with our core value of ensuring everyone feels welcome."
She further highlighted the inclusion improvements: "We're delighted that the play facilities at Crom have been updated as part of this project.
"From braille and sign language features to the new entry path which is more accessible for visitors with wheelchairs and prams, this space welcomes every child to play freely."
Elmarie Swanepoel, programme manager for the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership, echoed these sentiments, admiring the vast improvements: "We want to congratulate the National Trust on the excellent improvements made at Crom as part of this project.
"The new trails and natural play areas provide enhanced access to this special landscape, and we hope that it will inspire different generations to explore and adventure through this very special landscape".
Activities celebrating the built, natural, and cultural heritage of the estate are planned over the weekend. More information can be found on the National Trust website.
