POLICE have arrested a drunk driver who was caught speeding past a local primary school during pickup time.
Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), the PSNI carried out a speed operation outside Florencecourt Primary School, while parents were collecting their children.
During the operation on the Marble Arch Road, officers detected a driver who was speeding, whilst heavily under the influence of alcohol and with defective tyres.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Needless to say he is presently in Police custody and we are thankful he did not get the opportunity to cause any harm on our roads.
