A PASSIONATE sustainability advocate is hoping her Green message will resonate further after being named a Green Champion.
Supriya Foster, who spearheads sustainability at South West College, received the prestigious title within the Mannock-sponsored category last week.
Her initiatives within the college include integrating climate stripes on women's GAA tea jerseys, establishing a polytunnel for food cultivation, and implementing carbon literacy training for staff and students.
"Anything that promotes sustainability and climate awareness is something to be proud of," said Supriya.
"As much as I am really honoured by the fact I was nominated, the main message is sustainability. Net zero targets are coming soon, and climate awareness is a huge part of that.
"Anything we can to that gets the message of sustainability and reducing our emissions is highly-important."
She continued: "I would call on others to heed this message. Sustainability is no longer a niche market. It is about ensuring the future for the next generation."
Stephen Linden, Mannok's environmental manager, commended Supriya and all the Green heroes who were nominated and shortlisted.
"Mannok are driving their Green initiatives forward, and we are proud supporters of the Green initiatives throughout Fermanagh and South Tyrone.
“We congratulate Supriya on picking up the award," added Stephen,
