Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is among those who have been impacted by the worldwide IT issue that has caused havoc today [Friday, July 19].
The Council are having issues with card payments as a result of the outage. Domestic PC users are not understood to be affected.
In a post on X, a spokesperson for the Council wrote: "Due to a global IT issue, our leisure centres are currently unable to accept payments by card and can only accept cash.
"All other Council systems are working as normal. We are working with our service provider to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for [the] inconvenience."
Other organisations impacted include a GP surgery in Lisnaskea, a spokesperson for Maple Healthcare said in a Facebook post: "As part of the global IT outage our computer system is affected. This means we have no access to records and cannot prescribe or refer.
"We are open for emergencies. We will update when more information is available. We cannot contact the lab to see if they are able to process samples so best not to attend for bloods or routine appointments."
Businesses and users who use Microsoft are facing major outages in the UK and around the world, with laptops and systems not working.
The outage has impacted banks, IT firms and airlines all through this morning.
The IT outage is understood to be linked to an update deployed by a cybersecurity firm that is commonly used by many governments and companies all around the world, with the company currently deploying fixes.
