AN under-construction playpark in Tempo has been vandalised for a third time, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has revealed.
The most recent incident saw damage to a freshly-laid surface of the playpark, which has been fraught with delays thanks to both criminal damage and poor weather conditions.
PSNI officers in Enniskillen said that damage was caused to the new play facility between Wednesday, July 17 and Friday, July 19.
According to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, three incidents of vandalism have occurred since work began.
A spokesperson said: "Works have been undertaken at Tempo Play Park as part of the ongoing delivery of our Play Park Strategy. "This work has unfortunately been delayed due to the weather conditions.
"However, we are disappointed that it has been further delayed by three incidents of vandalism since the work commenced, most recently this week when the surface was being laid."
The spokesperson added: "These works are designed to enhance the play opportunities for children and young people in the area and we look forward to being able to open the play park as soon as possible."
"We would ask the public to report any incidents of vandalism to the PSNI."
Police have urged anyone with information in relation to the recent criminal damage to contact police on 101, quoting CC2024071900384.
