Translink is encouraging people across Fermanagh and Omagh to use public transport to explore local attractions.

Offering a range of affordable travel options, the bus and rail service operator aims to provide memorable summer experiences.

Translink's 'Days Out' webpage provides information about tickets and trip inspiration at www.translink.co.uk/daysout.

The historical Marble Arch Caves, for example, is one of the attractions in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.

It can be accessed via the popular 64g service from Enniskillen.

For bigger groups of up to two adults and four children, the Family and Friends ticket provides a whole day's travel on Translink services within Northern Ireland.

There's also the Bus Rambler ticket which allows unlimited day travel on all Ulsterbus and Goldliner services across Northern Ireland, starting from 9.15am.

A wider journey option, the iLink Travel Card, allows unlimited bus and train day travel across the entire region with discounts available for children and yLink card holders.

Councillor John McClaughry, chairman of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council, said: "There is so much to see and do right here across our own Council area this summer.

"I would encourage everyone to take advantage of Translink’s services and offers and leave the car at home as you discover what the Fermanagh Lakelands and Omagh and the Sperrins have to offer including the history, culture and leisure.

"Public transport can be a convenient, sustainable and relaxing way to travel and explore the District."

Dermot McGirr, service delivery manager at Translink, said: "Summer is a fantastic time to explore and re-discover the diverse attractions Northern Ireland has to offer.

"With our great value fares, easy contactless payment and range of services, we aim to make days out affordable and accessible for everyone.

“In addition to great fares, Translink’s park and ride facilities make traveling by public transport even more convenient, eliminating the hassle and cost of driving and parking.

“By choosing public transport, communities are also contributing to a greener environment, making summer outings both enjoyable and eco-friendly for everyone.”
