Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has not yet decided whether his department will publish an annual report on fuel poverty.
Minister Lyons revealed that officials have concluded a series of pre-consultation stakeholder engagement events to inform the development of the Fuel Poverty Strategy. A public consultation on the strategy is planned for this autumn.
In response to a query on the issue, he explained that "at this early stage" it has not yet been determined whether the strategy will include an annual fuel poverty report or establish a statutory fuel poverty target.
He said the final decision will depend on the outcomes of the forthcoming consultation and further deliberations on the strategy’s implementation.
