The “Echoes of Summer” event, hosted by Caritas in the Marble Arch Caves on July 21, was a resounding success.

Despite the persistent rain, the evening was filled with enchanting music, captivating performances, and delectable food.

Set in the stunning show cave, the event featured four guided tours, each commencing with a beautiful ensemble from the Caritas Chamber Choir.

Guests were serenaded with enchanting singing as they arrived by boat, setting a memorable tone for the evening.

Caritas also provided a second choir who performed throughout the entire event in the visitors' centre, culminating in both groups performing for those who had toured the caves.

The tours continued with a captivating performance by a trio of talented Irish traditional musicians, Caritas instrumentalists who thrilled attendees with their beautiful melodies.

The final stop featured a Caritas vocal soloist performing a selection of unaccompanied traditional songs, including some beautiful old songs in the Irish language.

Some tour members even joined in, adding to the atmospheric gathering.

Each tour group experienced different musical performances, all part of the integral Caritas production, each stop unique yet carefully planned by Helen Hamill, Musical Director.

Although the Fermanagh rain persisted, it didn’t dampen the enjoyment. Tully Mill Restaurant presented an exquisite BBQ, which, after the hour-long cave trip, was a hit with everyone.

While guests enjoyed the feast, Caritas continued performing a programme of music from various styles.

It was a wonderful way to spend a wet summer’s evening. The event showcased the natural, ancient beauty of the caves, the exceptional local talents of Caritas and their musicians, and the splendid culinary offerings from Tully Mill.
