A BANNED driver failed to stop for police and then attempted to make off on-foot, the PSNI have revealed.
The police pursuit, which took place in the West Tyrone area on Saturday, August 17, has resulted in a driver, who is already serving an 18-month driving ban, charged to court.
Speaking on the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: "The District Support Team were involved in a pursuit in the Omagh area on Saturday evening.
"During the pursuit, the driver decamped and attempted to run from the team.
"After a short foot chase the driver was detained and arrested for Failing to Stop, Driving Whilst Disqualified and Using a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance."
The spokesperson added: "The driver, who already has a 18-month ban will now face the courts again."
