ISABELLA Langham has completed her mission and delivered not one but two ambulances to war-torn Ukraine.
Earlier this year, the Tempo woman began fundraising for 'Mission Ukraine', a charity that provides converted ambulances for use on the frontline in Ukraine.
She was overwhelmed with the response, with donations flooding in from kind locals, a pub quiz in Blakes, and a non-uniform day at a local school.
Overall, a total of £11,500 was raised, which enabled Isabella to deliver two ambulances to Ukraine, instead of one.
In May, she delivered the first ambulance, travelling through Northern Germany solo before meeting charity representatives at the border between Poland and Ukraine.
The second was delivered just this month, when Isabella and her partner braved climates of more than 30C to travel once again to the border.
"Both trips were the best experiences of my life, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat," brave Isabella recounted.
"There was a real sense of achievement getting to that border twice. It was truly amazing.
"I have been in touch via WhatsApp with the guys who collected the first ambulance, and they are so thankful.
"I hope, one day, I can go over to meet them, and have a glass of champagne in Ukraine!"
One of the vehicles has already been repurposed as an ambulance, receiving a full camouflage respray, and having rear seats removed to store medical supplies. The second is still undergoing conversion.
Both vehicles will be used to take casualties off the front line.
Isabella continued: "I wish to pay a heartfelt word of thanks to all those who supported me and provided sponsorship.
"I would like to pay particular mention to Helen and Trevor Kirkpatrick, from Chernobyl Children Appeal, based in Irvinestown, for their amazing sponsorship of £4,000 for my first trip.
"I initially only intended to bring one ambulance over, but given the amazing fundraising response, I decided to go for a second.
"Every penny raised has gone to getting these vehicles over to Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who has helped; there are far too many of you to name!"
Isabella has encouraged others to consider supporting 'Mission Ukraine', describing her expedition as a "once-in-a-lifetime" trip.
"In January I heard about some guys doing a similar thing on a podcast, and I thought it was really cool", she said.
"From that moment on I knew I really wanted to do something to help, and I'm so glad I did.
"If anyone is interested in supporting the charity, 100 per cent go for it. It was the best experience of my life."
