The community of Enniskillen is reeling with shock and sadness following the sudden death of Brendan Hynes, who passed away on Friday night (August 30, 2024).

Mr. Hynes, who was well known throughout Fermanagh, died at the South West Acute Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

From Derrin Road, Mr. Hynes was the dearly loved fiancé of Charlotte and the loving brother of Geraldine, Bernadette, and John. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Mary, and his sister, Anne. 

According to a death notice on Funeral Times, Mr. Hynes is remembered with deep affection by Charlotte’s family — Alex, Jude, Callum, Sarah, and Grace — along with his wider family circle, friends, and neighbours.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday. He will repose at his home today (Sunday, September 1) and tomorrow (Monday, September 2) from 2pm to 8pm. The house will remain private to family and close friends outside of these hours. 

On Tuesday morning, Mr. Hynes will be taken to St. Michael’s Church, Darling Street, Enniskillen, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Breandrum Cemetery. 

The Mass will also be viewable via St. Michael's Parish Webcam.
