Two protesters have picketed the business premise of the man set to lead the Enniskillen Pride Parade as Grand Marshal.
Two protesters stood outside Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown earlier this week holding signs that stated: ‘No Pride Parade in Enniskillen in 2024’.
Hotelier Joe Mahon is set to lead the parade on Saturday as the Grand Marshall In addition, a number of protesters have declared their intentions to protest at the Pride parade in Enniskillen this weekend.
According to the Parades Commission website, a number of groups have declared that they will be protesting the parade which will take place on Saturday, September 7.
Groups including United Christian Witness, Bethal Free Presbyterian Church , No Pride Parade in Enniskillen Campaign and a private individual have set out their intentions to protest the parade. On the Parades Commission website, United Christian Witness states that they will have 14 participants, Bethel Free Presbyterian Church states they will have 100 participants, the No Pride Parade in Enniskillen states they will have ten participants and the private individual has stated that they will be the sole protester.
There has been a regular protest by two individuals in the Diamond area of Enniskillen since the intentions to hold a Pride parade were announced and a number of events hosted by the group have been picketed in the past.
