There are three simple words that are key to a long-lasting marriage believes Robert Kerr.
He and his wife Olive live near Fivemiletown and have marked 50 years of marriage.
On September 4, 1964, the pair wed in Presbyterian Church, Castlederg. Mr. and Mrs. Kerr recalled how as they travelled to their wedding reception, it “lashed over Scraghy” as they made to the Manor House in Killadeas for a wedding reception.
The pair had five children together: Clive, Olivia who is sadly deceased, Paula, Stephen and David and two grandchildren, Skye and Peter.
To celebrate their anniversary they drove around the Fermanagh countryside calling with old friends to catch up.
Oh, and the secret to such longevity?
“You’re right, love”, says Robert, with a smile on his face, as Olive looks on.
