A CONSULTATION is underway that could see the former South West College redeveloped into a hotel.
The regeneration proposal by the Byrne family comprises a mixed-use scheme featuring offices and retail space.
The redevelopment would see the part demolition of the campus building, and renovation of campus to provide Hotel, office space and a Small retail Unit.
Also proposed is a large Retail Unit to rear hard standing, the demolition of former library building, and facade improvements to the Listed Gaol Building.
The total floor space of the new scheme is estimated to be around 77,000 sq ft.
The former college site has been vacant since July 2021 and was put up for sale following the opening of the college’s new Erne campus on the Cornagrade Road.
The Byrne family acquired the campus last year, which was officially opened in 1971.
