A group of residents have raised £1,300 for charity with a special calendar.

The calendar was inspired by the film Calendar Girls, and created by the Roslea community as part of a fundraising event, 'The OsKaRs', for the local GAA club, Roslea Shamrocks.

Local photographer Teresa McMahon volunteered her time to take and edit the photos, which gave the appearance of the group wearing very little, although they were fully clothed.

The calendar features local businesses, with each month dedicated to a specific business, advertising their product or logo.

The proceeds from the calendar were initially intended for the group's respective OsKaRs fundraisers, but the club agreed to instead donate the proceeds to charity.

The two charities chosen were Ataxia UK and Marie Curie.

Ataxia UK was chosen due to the involvement of a key organiser of the calendar, who lives with a rare condition known as Friedrich’s Ataxia.

Marie Curie was nominated by a club member, Martina McMahon, who sadly passed away in May after battling cancer.

The local Marie Curie team had provided support throughout her illness.

The calendar raised a total of £1,300, which was then split equally between the two charities, with each receiving £650.
