Enniskillen Food Bank are struggling to keep food in stock due to the high demand for their services.
A number of social media pleas from both the food bank and individuals have highlighted the need for stock for the food banks.
Tesco Community Champion, Martina Reynolds, shared some of the items needed by the food bank in a social media post encouraging shoppers to drop off goods in the donation points in store.
The most needed items for the food bank include the following:
- Longlife Milk
- Tea
- Coffee
- Rice 500g bag
- Tinned Meat
- Tinned fish
- Tinned veg (sweetcorn, carrots and peas)
- Tinned fruit
- Tinned custard
- Tinned rice pudding
- Jam
- Jelly
- Fruit Squash
- Toiletries for men and women
- Bags for life
Earlier this year, this newspaper reported that the demand for food banks is spread right across Fermanagh, with service users right across all of the wards in the county.
John Shades, Enniskillen Foodbank manager, had previously warned that the demand will be "exceptional" this winter and that the current demand means that it is now difficult for food bank volunteers to keep food in stock.
Enniskillen Food Bank serves a number of areas including Enniskillen, Belleek, Newtownbutler and Irvinestown.
Donation points are available in shops right across the county.
