A charity kayak event will take place in Killeshandra and end in Belturbet to raise money for suicide prevention.
The event, organised by Cavan Adventure Centre, will run on Saturday, October 12, with all proceeds going to SoSad, a charity dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
Participants can choose to join either a half-day kayak adventure or a full-day kayak challenge, with all equipment and guides provided.
The scenic route, which starts in Killeshandra and finishes in Belturbet, will take paddlers through some of Cavan’s most beautiful waterways.
Families and friends are encouraged to gather and cheer participants as they cross the finish line.
Food and refreshments will be provided midway, and a gathering at The Widow’s Bar will follow the event, with refreshments awaiting participants.
As part of the event, Inishmore Yoga and Meditation Studio at Cavan Adventure Centre is running a series of wellbeing, yoga, and meditation workshops.
These are being offered on a donation basis, with all proceeds going to SoSad.

Sean Thornton, owner of Cavan Adventure Centre, said: "This event is more than just a kayaking trip; it’s about coming together to support one another and raise awareness for mental health.
"Every paddle stroke is a step towards breaking the stigma around mental health issues and supporting the incredible work that SOSAD does for people in Cavan."
Councillor Brendan Fay, owner of The Widow’s Bar and fundraising and awareness coordinator for SoSad Cavan, said: "As a community, it’s vital that we stand together in support of mental health.
"Events like this not only raise essential funds for SOSAD, but they also open up conversations about mental well-being."
