Police on patrol at an Enniskillen car park detected a car with faulty tyres and improper registration plate, a court has heard.

On March 18, police were on patrol at Quay Lane car park in the town where they spoke to the owner of a BMW 5 Series, Adam Patrick McTeggart (21), of Cappog Road, Enniskillen.

While speaking to McTeggart, officers observed that a front and rear tyre was defective with canvas visible on the side.

The font on the registration plate was also the incorrect size.

McTeggart's solicitor, Michael Fahy, said his client had entered an early guilty plea and added that the incident showed how important it was to check tyres, as it was the inside wall of the defective tyres that were worn, and a ramp would be needed to make these checks.

Mr. Fahy said his client no longer owned the car.

For the two defective tyres and an incorrect registration mark, McTeggart received three penalty points and a total of £250 in fines.
