A Tyrone man has appeared in court accused of attempted child sexual communication and indecent imagery.
Kevin James McKenna (43) from Shilling Court, Fintona is charged with attempting to communicate sexually with a female child and attempting to cause or incite her to become involved in pornography.
In addition, he is accused of making and possessing indecent child imagery as well as possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Offending is alleged to have occurred on various dates between May 17 and June 28, 2023.
A police officer aware of the facts of the case told Omagh Magistrates Court the charges could be connected.
No details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged offending were disclosed during the short hearing at which McKenna spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges against him.
A prosecuting lawyer advised the case is in the very early stages and with considerably more information to be gathered the full file is not expected from police for several months.
District Judge Peter Magill decided to allow a longer adjournment than usual and remanded McKenna on continuing bail to return to court on December 17.
