A Fivemiletown man has appeared in court on a charge of attempted child sexual communication.
It is alleged Simon Thompson (51) from Queens Park intentionally attempted to communicate with a female child for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification on unknown dates since May 26, 2023.
A police officer aware of the facts of the case told Dungannon Magistrates Court the charge could be connected.
Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer remanded Thompson on £500 bail and ordered him to have no contact with anyone aged under 18 unless approved by Social Services.
The judge enquired why there was no ban on internet access or possessing a phone to which a defence solicitor replied: “Police did not regard this as necessary or appropriate.”
The case is due back in court on January 10.
