Police are currently investigating a series of recent alcohol thefts from shops in Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler, which are believed to be connected.
Inspector Knipe confirmed that officers received reports on Sunday afternoon, November 10, detailing that two men entered shops in the Main Street and Moorlough Road areas of Lisnaskea, as well as a third premises on Bridge Street in Newtownbutler. Each time, bottles of alcohol were reportedly stolen by the suspects.
The men involved are described as being in their 40s. The first man was wearing a black coat, blue jeans, black trainers, and had black hair. The second man was bald with a beard and wore a blue shirt, blue jeans, and green trainers.
Inspector Knipe noted: “It’s believed both men approached the premises in a grey-coloured vehicle. They entered the shop and a short time later made off in the vehicle with a number of bottles of alcohol without paying.”
Police believe the same individuals could be responsible for other recent thefts in the area and investigations are ongoing.
Inspector Knipe added: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in any of these areas between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday and noticed anything suspicious or the men who matched these descriptions to make contact with police on 101 quoting reference 1233 10/11/24.”
