Woman to contest domestic abuse charges
Charges against a Brookeborough woman which are aggravated by a domestic abuse element are to be contested.
Courtney Leonard (21) from Monmurry Road is accused of assaulting a male and damaging his car on February 18 this year.
A defence barrister told Enniskillen Magistrates Court both charges are denied. District Judge Alana McSorley adjourned the case until for hearing as a contest on December 18.
Attempted GBH accused returned for trial
A case in which it is alleged a Kesh man seriously assaulted a woman has been returned for trial at the Crown Court.
Appearing for a committal hearing was Mark Frazer (32) from Pettigo Road who is charged with unlawfully and maliciously attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and assault causing actual bodily harm on July 8, 2023.
A prosecuting lawyer told Enniskillen Magistrates Court there is a case to answer which was agreed by District Judge Alana McSorley.
When asked if he wished to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf Frazer replied: “Not at this time.”
Judge McSorley remanded him on £500 bail to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court on December 3.
Domestic abuse accused appears in court
A domestic abuse charge which allegedly spanned a two-year period has been put to a Derrygonnelly man who appeared in court.
Rhys Morris (31) from Benmore Mews is charged with pursuing a course of abusive behaviour likely to cause a female to suffer physical or psychological harm on dates between September 1, 2022, and October 15, 2024.
A police officer told Enniskillen Magistrates Court the charge could be connected.
District Judge Alana McSorley remanded Morris on continuing bail to return to court on November 25.
Lisbellaw teen allegedly drunk-in-charge of vehicle
A Lisbellaw teenager is to contest an allegation of being drunk-in-charge of a vehicle.
Christian Clarke (19) from Rabbitburrow Road is alleged to have committed the offence in the Wellington Road area of Enniskillen on September 8.
A defence barrister told Enniskillen Magistrates Court the charge is denied.
District Judge Alana McSorley remanded Clarke on continuing bail to return to court on November 25 when a contest date is to be fixed.
Window damage and resisting arrest admitted
A pre-sentence report has been ordered after a number of charges from a domestic violence case were admitted.
Gordon Graham (55) from Camphill Park, Newtownbutler damaged a window and resisted arrest on October 1.
A defence solicitor told Enniskillen the charges are accepted and pointed out there is a relevant record, so reports would be helpful.
District Judge Alana McSorley agreed and remanded Graham on continuing bail to return for sentencing on January 6.
