A series of awareness sessions to assist farming families with succession planning is set to be launched at an Enniskillen hotel.
Rural Support is set to host the sessions as part of the Farming for the Generations pilot scheme which is funded by the DAERA Farm Support and Development Programme.
The "Passing the Torch - Planning for Generations to Come" roadshow will take place in the Westville Hotel on December 5 at 7.30pm.
The roadshow will provide support and guidance to farm families as they navigate the often challenging process of generational transition.
There will also be online sessions on December 9 at 8pm and December 10 at 1pm, as well as in-person events in other locations across Northern Ireland for those who are unable to attend on this date.
The initial awareness sessions will provide practical advice and guidance on how to facilitate discussions within the farm family on bringing in the next generation to the business.
Key topics will include succession planning strategies, legal considerations, family communication approaches, and information on support services available through Rural Support.
Kevin Doherty, chief executive officer of Rural Support, said: "Succession planning is a critical part of ensuring the resilience of our farm sector.
"We recognise the unique challenges and stresses that accompany these conversations, and we are committed to providing resources to help farm families in the Fermanagh area navigate this process in a way that supports both their well-being and the continued success of their businesses.”
The Farming for the Generations programme, launched by Andrew Muir, Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, aims to support farm families across the region by fostering long-term planning that enables effective, sustainable farm succession.
The scheme is built on a three-phased approach: planning for succession, developing the successor(s), and maintaining support for both generations throughout the transition process.
