LEGENDARY radio presenter Trevor Campbell (Big T) has died aged 78.
Announcing his passing, Downtown Country said: "We’re incredibly saddened to announce that our friend and colleague Trevor Campbell has passed away at the age of 78.
"We will miss you greatly. Rest In Peace Big T."
Mr. Campbell joined the radio station in 1976 where he presented a popular country music show. In recent years he presented a nightly show on sister station, Downtown Country.
Locally, Mr. Campbell would have travelled to Fermanagh yearly to attend the Lady of the Lake festival, and had fans across the county.
Paying to tribute to the late presenter, Irvinestown's Joe Mahon said: "He was a great man, plain and simple. I knew him for over 25 years; everyone knew him.
"He was very supportive of the truck run, and nothing was ever too much for him. Anything he could have done for you, he would have. He would have come down to the truck run and spoke to everyone, and he loved the truckers dance. He was very down to earth.
"He is a great loss to everyone, Northern Ireland, the radio, and to our event. Next year is the 25th anniversary and he would certaily have been down. We will be doing a tribute to him at thatwithout a doubt.
"All in all this is a big loss. Everyone knew Big T!"
A funeral times notice said that Mr. Campbell is "deeply regretted by devoted partner Vi and loving sister Norma."
